Abstract
Statistical evidence indicates that most of the claims against damage resulting from lightning strikes arise from the destruction of electronic components in: fire alarm control panels, security systems, telephone exchanges, sound equipment, and lighting systems. In this publication the benefits of overvoltage protection are outlined and methods of best practice are suggested.
