Abstract

A practical guide to meeting the international environmental management standard ISO 14001 illustrating, in clear sections, how to organise and implement an EMS to attain registration following successful models used within a major UK based manufacturing based company. Structure follows that of ISO 14001 and gives practical examples of how to meet most of the requirements of the standard. Shows how a company can develop its EMS as the first step towards an improved environmental performance and reduced operating costs.
