Abstract
Specifies requirements for the materials, dimensions and construction details together with the testing requirements for compression fittings for use with blue polyethylene pipes for cold potable water services in metric dimensions complying with BS 6572 and black polyethylene pipes for cold potable water services in metric dimensions complying with the requirements of BS 6730. It also applies to the most commonly used type of fittings for connecting pipes of nominal metric outside diameters ranging from 20 to 63. Covers: designation of sizes of fittings; material; water quality; components made from castings, hot pressings, rod or drawn tube; dimensions; bore of fittings; design and construction; test requirements; and marking.
