Abstract

Gives recommendations for the installation of replacement windows and doors. Applies to the installation in domestic buildings, into existing apertures in walls of: aluminium windows with or without wood surrounds, wood windows and white uPVC plastics windows; aluminium framed sliding glass doors with or without wood surrounds and white uPVC plastics framed sliding glass doors; and aluminium and white uPVC framed and hinged external glazed doors. The recommendations also apply to aluminium windows fitted into existing wood surrounds or into existing wood windows converted into wood surrounds.
