Abstract
Examines the effects of the architectural environment on the lives of patients and to some extent staff in two NHS hospitals, one each in the general medical and the mental health sectors. Examines patients' reactions to the environment and the health outcomes that resulted from their treatment in it. Identifies architectural factors responsible for these effects.
