Report 619 Use of live willow poles for stabilising highway slopes

Abstract
Details both the installation and establishment of live willow poles on four highway slopes in the UK. The sites were installed in spring 2000, with a further site completed in 2001. Results from the trial sites are encouraging and indicate that by the summer of 2003 approximately 97% of the poles had survived.
