Supersedes - HBN 22 (2003). Includes amendment slip issued July 2006. TSO took over the publishing of NHS Estates documents and this has led to some anomalies with publication dates and editions. This is the 3rd edition of the document but the 2nd edition of the TSO imprint. Replaced by HBN 15-01 entitled 'Accident and emergency departments: planning and design guidance'.
