Abstract
Quarterly Briefing comprises five sections: News and topical issues, estates information, health, safety and environment, primary care and construction statistics and information. The latter section includes: indices and future outlook, regional location factors, other index series, equipment prices and maintenance costs and prices.

NHS Estates were responsible for strategic development of a flexible and responsive environment for health and social care. Their publications included Health Technical Memorandums, Health Building Notes, design guides, circulars and Health Facilities Notes. These were then transferred to the Department of Health.
