Abstract
The primary purpose of traffic control by light signals is to separate conflicting traffic by the division of time, within the available road space, in a safe, efficient and equitable manner. This document covers aspects of signal sequences, control strategy, vehicle actuation (VA) method, microprocessor optimised vehicle actuation (MOVA), compact MOVA (CMOVA), linking, master time clock switch, part time operation, hurry calls, controller settings, intergreen period, interstage period, minimum green, extension times and maximum green times and cycle time.
