Abstract
Gives guidance on the selection of the types of surface and sub-surface drainage for trunk roads including motorways. It describes the various alternative solutions that are available to drain trunk roads in the UK, including their potential to control pollution and flooding. It also includes guidance on drainage of earthworks associated with highway schemes and appropriate signing for pollution control devices.
