Abstract
Identifies ecological information on Japanese knotweed. Suggests how to prevent it from spreading and how to manage the problem. Offers guidance on the use of root barrier membranes, treatment and disposal on and off site, and on moving soil containing knotweed. Describes how knotweed will affect using the site in the long-term. Also explains how to identify and excavate Japanese knotweed rhizome.
