Abstract

Pre-publication TD 34, setting out the design standards applicable to road lighting covering performance requirements, design decisions and process and includes a lighting design checklist.

Document History

Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. To be used in place of obsolete standards TD 30/87 and TD 34/91. This replacement TD 34 will be incorporated into DMRB by the end of 2007, when this HA IAN will be withdrawn. Replaced by TD 34/07.
