Abstract
Provides guidance on the built environment required to support the clinical and diagnostic invasive procedures that take place in a dedicated day surgery unit (DSU) located within either an acute hospital or a treatment centre. The DSU described comprises an admission suite, four operating theatres, two recovery areas (including the discharge lounge) and facilities for staff support. Includes information on cost as well as engineering services.
