Abstract

Describes instrumentation for monitoring surface levels, ground movements from boreholes, and pore water pressures, and discusses the installation of the instrumented ring. Relates results from these measurements. Provides a description of the tunnelling works. The two tunnels constructed were 4.15m in diameter with expanded concrete linings at depths of 34m and 20m.
