Abstract

Explains the procedure for assessment of houses and credit verification for this national standard, and of the scoring and weighting system. Details the new credit definitions and their evidence base and specifies methods of credit verification. Provides calculation algorithms, checklists and other tools which are part of the assessment method.

Document History

September 2007 revision - supersedes the March 2007 version. Drafted by the BREEAM Centre at the Building Research Establishment. Replaces the EcoHomes scheme with regard to new developments. The Code for Sustainable Homes was launched in December 2006 with the publication of ‘Code for Sustainable Homes: a step change in sustainable home building practice' (DCLG) and came into effect April 2007.
