Abstract
To seek views on proposed amendments to legislation to allow electronic communication of documents supporting the building control system. Through advancements in technology, It is now possible to communicate all relevant documents electronically. These changes propose to remove the need for signatures for certain documents and enable electronic signatures to be used for other specified documents.

No longer applicable as amendments were for Building Regulations 2000 legislation - this has now been superseded by 2010 legislation. Consultation closed on 8th October 2007 and the proposed amendments are due to take effect from 6th April 2008.
