Abstract

Describes the overall structure of the HTM series 01 guidance and the rationale behind it, general principles, regulatory framework, and roles of key personnel. Also covers procedures for the reporting of adverse incidents and defective equipment, local reprocessing (decontamination in primary care, and local decontamination) and the management of instruments potentially contaminated with transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) infectivity.

Document History

The HTM 01 series will supersede all parts of NHS Estates' HTMs 2010, 2030 and 2031. While parts of HTM 01 are to be released, these older documents will remain on the service. Superseded by CFPP 01-01 Part A.
