Abstract
Provides guidance on the application of fire-safety engineering principles to the fire safety of healthcare premises. Applicable to the design of new healthcare buildings, new extensions to existing buildings, alterations to existing buildings, the change of use of an existing building into a healthcare building, and those parts of an existing building that are used as means of escape from a new extension. Discusses the process behind fire engineering. Covers a range of issues which fire engineering should address.
Document History
HTM 05-03 consists of ten parts: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K and M. To be read in conjunction with HTM 05-01 and HTM 05-02 which are also part of the Firecode suite. Department of Health is now known as the Department of Health and Social Care.
