Abstract
Looks at how the BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) and the Code for Sustainable Homes are being used by local authorities to deliver their sustainable development objectives through the planning system. Identifies potential barriers to success and analyses the use of BREEAM. Outlines the findings of a workshop held at BRE in July 2007 to explore how local planning authorities could use BREEAM in development planning.
