Abstract

Seeks to improve safety of people in and around buildings in the outbreak of a fire, to keep sustainable development on the agenda, to advocate innovation in design and construction, to promote inclusive design, to reduce environmental pollution and assist fire and rescue services. Looks at the costs and benefits for 3 options.

Consultation closed on 29 July 2008. This consultation comprises: a covering letter, Annex A - summary of proposed changes, Annex B - proposed revisions to domestic guidance document, Annex C - proposed revisions to non-domestic guidance document, Annex D - escape from buildings - performance guidance and this Annex F - a partial regulatory impact assessment.
