Abstract
Annex C provides additional guidance on home improvements and the implications these can have on building elements and noise nuisance. Covers laying hard floor coverings, laminate flooring and integral loudspeakers within floor constructions.

Consultation closed on 29 July 2008. This consultation comprises: a covering letter, Annex A - summary of proposed changes, Annex B - proposed revisions to domestic and non-domestic guidance documents, this Annex C - guidance on laminate/hard floor coverings, Annex D - example constructions and generic internal wall and floor details and Annex F - an intermediate regulatory impact assessment.

The Scottish Building Standards Agency (SBSA) was disbanded on 1 April 2008 and its functions to administer the Building Standards system in Scotland were transferred back to the Scottish Government. The Building Standards Division includes Planning and Architectural Policy.
