Abstract
To improve sound insulation, reduce sound transmission to dwellings and residential buildings from buildings in different occupation and to reduce noise levels for building occupants and ensure the building environment does not affect health through noise disturbance. Looks at 3 options and examines costs, risks, implementation and delivery plans and benefits.

This consultation comprises: a covering letter, Annex A - summary of proposed changes, Annex B - proposed revisions to domestic and non-domestic guidance documents, Annex C - guidance on laminate/hard floor coverings, Annex D - example constructions and generic internal wall and floor details and this Annex F - an intermediate regulatory impact assessment.
