Abstract
Provides a tool for identifying the optimum location for a wind turbine on a duo-pitch house roof and for calculating the expected wind speeds over house roofs to determine its power output. Describes a programme of wind tunnel testing to measure wind speeds above roofs. Tests were carried out on typical two-storey detached and terraced houses with 25° and 50° duo-pitch roofs. Shows effects of different terrain types and configurations, and of the shelter provided by nearby buildings.
