Abstract

The NHBC Standards give the technical requirements, performance standards and guidance for the design and construction of dwellings acceptable to NHBC. Included here: Chapter 4.1 Land quality - managing ground conditions, Chapter 4.2 Building near trees, Chapter 4.4 Strip and trench fill foundations, Chapter 4.5 Raft, pile, pier and beam foundations, and Chapter 4.6 Vibratory ground improvement techniques.

Document History

This document is part of a larger document, NHBC Standards 2008, which has been split into parts for ease of use. Chapter 4.2 ‘Building near trees’ has been revised following the publication of BS 5837:2005. Parts 3 and 10 are no longer allocated and do not appear in the volume. Came into effect 1 September 2008. Superseded by 2010 update from 1 April 2010.
