Abstract

A reliable supply of water is essential to the effectiveness of a sprinkler system and this can be achieved with fire pumps and water tanks. This document describes their operation, looks at various pump types and packages, considers the issues of high rise buildings, details pressure maintenance pumps (jockey pump), early suppression fast response (ESFR) installations, factory assembled packaged pump houses and maintenance factors.
