Abstract

For use where the building work is simple in character; where a contract administrator is to administer the conditions; and where the work is designed, and requirements for the contractors' design of discrete parts are detailed by, or on behalf of, the employer, and where the contractor is required to design those parts of the work.

Document History

The current edition of the Minor works building contract with contractor's design (MWD) is: MWD 2016 JCT Minor works building contract with contractor's design 2016 (SMA, 2016). JCT 2005 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2011. With MW 05, replaces - MW 98. Updates the 2007 revision. The principal revision is the incorporation of sustainability provisions, following JCT’s consultation, and provisions building on OGC’s Achieving Excellence criteria. Aspects of the payment provisions have been modified while awaiting the outcome of the proposed payment legislation.
