Abstract

Appropriate for larger works designed and/or detailed by or on behalf of the employer, where detailed contract provisions are necessary and the employer is to provide the contractor with drawings. Also appropriate when either a specification or work schedules to define adequately the scope and quality of the work and where the degree of complexity is not such as to require bills of quantities. A contract administrator and quantity surveyor will administer the conditions.

Document History

JCT 2005 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2011. Updates the 2007 revision. The principal revision is the incorporation of sustainability provisions, following JCT’s consultation, and provisions building on OGC’s Achieving Excellence criteria. Aspects of the payment provisions have been modified while awaiting the outcome of the proposed payment legislation. Includes Terrorism Cover Update, issued December 2009.
