Abstract

For use where the building works are to be carried out in sections, by either private and local authority employees, and where provisions are required to cover named specialists. Also where the works are designed and the requirements for the contractors design of discrete parts are detailed by, or on behalf of, the employer, and where the contractor is required to design those parts of the work.

Document History

JCT 2005 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2011. Replaces - IFC 98, and incorporates - Sectional Completion Supplement (SCS), and Fluctuations Supplement (FS). Updates the 2007 revision. The principal revision of JCT IC 05 is the incorporation of sustainability provisions, following JCT’s consultation, and provisions building on OGC’s Achieving Excellence criteria. Aspects of the payment provisions have been modified while awaiting the outcome of the proposed payment legislation. Includes Terrorism Cover Update, issued December 2009.
