Abstract

Describes the study method adopted and the basis on which it was developed. Identifies three types of pedestrian count, and outlines the techniques used for measuring and predicting each. Presents study’s results in terms of the distribution of pedestrian members, and the implications for counting methods, sampling periods and expansion factors. Tests the applicability of the Coventry Transportation Study method for enumeration from land use data and assesses alternative formulations.
