Abstract

Presents research undertaken with the intention of developing a more objective and repeatable procedure than the current system of manual inspections. Proposes that images of structures could be manually or automatically collected and processed to identify defects in highway structures. Concentrates on two key areas of development: image collection and display and image analysis.
