Abstract
Summarises the current situation with respect to standards and guidelines, discusses the basis for water quality criteria and guidelines, and addresses the application of these criteria and guidelines as technical requirements. Tables encompass recommendations for water quality guidelines for three characteristic end uses and for technical requirements of three different scales of system.
