Abstract

Compiles abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the environmental considerations applied to the planning of new road schemes and the maintenance and upgrading of existing schemes. Considers environmental impact assessment, environmentally acceptable design standards, and measures that can be taken to mitigate environmental difficulties. Specific topics include reduction of surface noise, the use of recycled materials, the control of traffic nuisance, and environment protection and nature conservation.
