Abstract
Aims to challenge traditional ways of thinking and working, arguing that conventional ways of making places have, generally, not created places of the quality that the public demands. Explores how placemaking and community empowerment can be better connected and looks at how to bring together the built environment agendas of placemaking and design with the community agendas of social enterprise, learning and empowerment.
