Abstract
The cracking, displacement, and spalling of stone and masonry through corrosion of steelwork is becoming increasingly common in masonry-clad steel-framed buildings constructed between the late 1800s and the 1950s. This report presents a state-of-the art review of cathodic protection (CP) technology used in both Europe and the United States over the past decade in combating corrosion deterioration of masonry buildings with structural steel frames.
