Abstract
Provides guidance for the design of single and multi-storey steel structures to Eurocode 3. Discusses general principles of design, looking at safety issues, design processes, stability, movement joints, loading, limit states, material properties, section classification and methods of analysis. Further guidance covering actions (loads), material selection, structural form and framing, fire resistance, corrosion protection and connections as they apply to braced multi-storey or single-storey buildings is given. Also covers beams, columns, members, portal frames, lattice girders and trusses, connections and connection details.
