Abstract
Sets out a logical approach to making decisions and offering guidance about all aspects of England's historic environment. Describes six conservation principles which provide a comprehensive framework for the sustainable management of the historic environment. Also looks at understanding heritage values, assessing heritage significance, managing change to significant places, English Heritage conservation policies and guidance.
