Planning Policy Statement 4 Planning and economic development - clarification of Policy PED 7
Publication Year
2011
Document Status
Current
Abstract
Comprises clarification of Policy PED 7 'The Retention of Zoned Land and Economic Development Uses' of PPS4, published in September 2011. The purpose of the clarification is to ensure consistency in the approach taken to unzoned land used, or last used, for industrial or storage and distribution use, and how applications for their retention will be considered. Previously land 'last used' for economic development on unzoned sites could be used for any type of development. Now, if a site is cleared of an economic development, even if it is on unzoned land, it must still be used for economic purposes.
