Abstract
Prescribes water safety signs intended for use in aquatic environments, detailing the shape and colour to be used along with graphical symbols contained within each sign.

Superseded by BS EN ISO 7010:2020+A6:2023. Supersedes BS 5499-1:2002. National Annex NA has been added to provide registered water safety signs which were originally in BS 5499-11 but have not been included in ISO 20712-1.
