Abstract

Provides practical guidance to compliance with Part 5 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 (SI No. 504 of 2006) as amended by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 (SI No. 130 of 2008) and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2008 (SI No. 423 of 2008) which, inter alia, requires that adequate precautions are taken in any excavation, shaft, earthwork, underground works or tunnel to avoid risk to persons at work arising from possible underground dangers.
