Abstract

Covers demolition from the concept stage to completion for all parties involved in, or affected by, demolition projects. Demolition techniques are described and methods are recommended for the demolition of specific types of structure.

Document History

First published as CP 94 in 1971. First published as BS 6187 in 1982. Second edition published September 2000. Third (present) edition, December 2011. Supersedes BS 6187:2000. Came into effect 31 December 2011. Revised to embrace changes in technology and equipment within the demolition industry and provides recommendations for project development and management, site and risk assessments, decommissioning, environmental provisions and facade retention, deconstruction, reuse and recycling and exclusion zones. Confirmed June 2016.
