Abstract
The current version of SAP is known as SAP 2009 and this review will result in SAP 2012. The methodology assesses the energy performance of dwellings using indicators covering fabric energy efficiency (FEE), energy consumption per unit floor area, energy cost rating (the SAP rating), environmental impact rating based on CO2 emissions (the EI rating) and dwelling CO2 emission rate (DER).

Consultation closed on 28 March 2012. This consultation is conducted by the BRE on behalf of DECC. The consultation comprises: a background and consultation questions document and this SAP specification. Draft SAP 2012 version 9.92 (December 2011).
