Abstract
Summarises recommendations for intervention aiming to reduce potholes, looking at causes and solutions, maintenance strategies and programmes, prioritisation, reporting and communication. Indicates recent research projects: simulating pothole formation, pothole behaviour, trafficking in dry and wet conditions of filled potholes, pothole defect identification and detection using Smartphones, pothole formation in asphalt surfacing materials, repairing potholes and road defects, data mining algorithm and asset management and health diagnosis of road pavements.
