Abstract
Explores a way of reducing congestion in peak periods through the use of temporary backfill of excavations before the works are fully completed. Provides guidance for use, trench volume, depth and shoring, materials and availability, placement and compaction and bearing capacity, effect on apparatus, removal and storage, asphalt specification and layer thickness.
