Abstract

Applicable to all work with asbestos and explains the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006. Refers in particular to work on, or which disturbs or is liable to disturb, materials containing asbestos, asbestos sampling and laboratory analysis.

ACOPs L127 'The management of asbestos in non-domestic premises' and L143 'Work with materials containing asbestos' have been consolidated into L143 (second edition) - produced December 2013. This is a web version of L143 (First edition, published 2006). This version has been adapted for online use from HSE's current printed version - produced September 2009. Should be read in conjunction with the Code of Practice entitled 'Management of asbestos in non-domestic premises' and other HSE guidance. Supersedes ACOPs L27, L28 and the guide to the Asbestos (licensing) Regulations 1983, L11. Approved for use in Northern Ireland.
