Abstract
Outlines revised BRE guidance on site layout planning to achieve good daylighting, both within buildings and in the open spaces between them. It deals with daylight in general, and also addresses the provision of daylight in dense urban areas, summarising some of the guidance on diffuse daylighting.

Should be read in conjunction with IP 22/12 - Site layout planning for sunlight and solar gain. Supersedes IP 5/92 which is withdrawn.
