Abstract

Gives technical requirements, performance standards and guidance for the design and construction of dwellings acceptable to NHBC. Covers: 4.1 Land quality - managing ground conditions (updated to reflect changes in both British and European Standards for managing hazardous ground), 4.2 Building near trees, 4.4 Strip and trench fill foundations, 4.5 Raft, pile, pier and beam foundations, and 4.6 Vibratory ground improvement techniques (specially updated to reflect current practice in the vibro industry).
