Abstract
A section of the M25 goes through a 470 m cut and cover tunnel at the northern edge of Epping Forest. This study of the retaining walls of the Bell Common Tunnel presents finite element analyses of the effect on the predictions of modelling the sequence of tunnel construction and using revised soil parameters from laboratory tests.
