Abstract

Describes the procedures which can be used in the identification and measurement of problems and the selection of appropriate solutions, outlines the role of strategic planning and describes the main steps involved in formulating a strategic rehabilitation plan. Looks at regulation, data requirements, sets out broad indicators of aesthetic water quality and provides a worked example of calculating branch main headlosses. Also covers hydraulically crucial pipelines, estimating cost savings, basis for the approach to structural investigations and various forms for recording details of failures and repairs.
