Community infrastructure levy: affordable housing and 'meaningful' amount for local communities

Abstract
Explains changes to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a charge on new developments to support the infrastructure needed. The UK Government has decided that, for Wales, the 'meaningful amount' is 15% of CIL revenues and this should be passed on to Community Councils. Also explains local planning authorities should continue to consider best practice in using Section 106 agreements to help develop affordable houses in line with Local Development Plan (LDP) policies.
