Abstract

Applies to slating and tiling of roofs and walls. Gives recommendations and guidance for basic workmanship. Covers handling and preparation of materials, laying and fixing of clay and concrete roof tiles, fittings and accessories, fibre cement slates, fittings and accessories, natural slates, fittings and accessories.

Partially superseded by BS 8000-0:2014 but remains current. Supersedes BS 8000-6:1990. First published April 1990. Second (present) edition, September 2013. Came into effect 30 September 2013. This is a full revision and takes into account revisions to BS 5534, new product innovations such as dry fix systems, updates to health and safety legislation and guidance for installation of solar roof panels.
